Help!
I'm looking for a fastish read that isn't all fluff. I need something to take with me on vaccation and I can't quite put my finger on what I want to read. I have a million books that I own and haven't read yet and I could bring one of those but i always have this voice in my head that says, "What if you don't like that one? You should bring 3 or 4 others just in case." The sad thing is, I do! Then my bag is weighed for the flight and it's too heavy. So, there I am, trapsing through the airport with a million books under my arm! If you have a recomendation of a good book you've read recently, please help me!

Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell was hysterical and really educational (in a fun way). I LOVED IT! Loved it! Any of the books by Gregory Maguire (the guy who wrote Wicked) are also quite good. The Time Travelers Wife is also amazing, but I don't remember who it's by.... I also love anything by Steve Berry, if you're looking for an easy, fun drama to read.
Sean thinks you should read James Clavell, Shogun. It's about medieval Japan, and is apparently good historical fiction.
Let me know what you end up reading!
Brave New World by is good and short. It is a fast read, but thought provoking. My husband really likes The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo.
The Glenn Beck book is pretty good.
Hi. I saw your name on Debbie Neilson's blog. I work as your Dad's admin. assist at C21. I have been reading a lot of Young Adult books. A Long Way from Chicago and its sequel is good and The Wednesday Wars was very entertaining but also had some tender and sometimes undercurrents of deep meaning. That one is by Gary Schmidt I believe. An easy read but good. They're quick and easy. I just read The Kite Runner. It was difficult to read in some parts. I think "raw" is what they said in the reviews. Raw (in some parts) just about says it all. I enjoyed it though. If you're already traipsing through the airport why do you need additional recommendations? For later? Or maybe you mean that you will be traipsing through the airport... anyway, thanks for letting me lurk on your blog. I'd love to know what you read too. I'm in Utah visiting my daughter (Sarah Knerr Peterson) and finished the one and only book I have. I wish I had another one!!! Good luck.
That bookcase is amazing!!!! :) What did you end up reading on your cruise?
