Okay, so after Washington, I said a win is a win regardless of the score and that is still true, but could it have been any sloppier?
All in all the team played well in the first quarter and the defense really pounded away on the Aggies, but after jumping out to a 24 to 0 lead in the first quarter, I think the offense got a little complacent and didn't look as sharp as they have the last few games.
This forced the defense to be on the field longer than normal which led to some frustration and big plays by Utah State. We all know that frustration leads to those 'fun' personal foul penalties that have a way of shifting the momentum of a game.
I guess it was time for the team to have a game like this so they realize they can't just walk all over opponents and give up. They have to finish every game before they get a break. Hopefully they've learned that lesson and it will help as we move forward.
Execution will have to be much cleaner as we get ready to play New Mexico this weekend.
Go Cougs!
