foster: Going Home

Some of you may be wondering why I've been so hyped up on crafts this last week. Today we had court and the two G's will be leaving us Monday morning. I've been trying to prep myself for dealing with lots of free time. I noticed on days they had long overnight visits I would get down. I don't want to be that person! Soooooo, my coping strategy is to stay busy! Wish me luck!

If you need to make more trips to IKEA, let me know. I would meet you there anytime!!! It is my new addiction (don't tell Troy). :-)

What a rough transition - again. Good luck keeping busy! I can't wait to see how the counters turn out.

I understand what you mean. I feel like I didn't get much done during the month that we didn't have any kids. I hope the move goes well for you and the kids.

Hang in there! That first week is always the hardest. But if the need for foster care is as great in Utah as it is here in Oregon they will be trying to get you filled up quickly! And there is always the chance that you get to see the kids after they go back. Our last little guy we had is two and we get him at least one weekend a month. His mom just had a baby so we have him for a week and a half. Just remember that no matter what happens, you gave those kids something that they had been missing...love, care, and a functional family setting. Hang in there!
